Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-10-20
This is a scheduled revision. It takes effect on 2026-10-20; the prior applicable terms remain in effect until then.
1. Who provides the service
Citronnier, Inc. ("we", "us", or the "Company") operates SBHNews and is responsible for web subscription sales, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds. Contact [email protected]. These terms cover our news, account features, subscriptions, newsletters, ProView, audio, maps, and related services. The Privacy Policy explains personal information processing; the Cancellation and Refund Policy explains subscription cancellation and refunds.
These English terms explain the service terms for English-speaking users, including U.S. consumers. They do not waive any mandatory rights under federal, state, or local law. A language difference cannot reduce a consumer's mandatory rights. Separate signed agreements govern commercial ProView use, advertising, or other negotiated services.
2. Acceptance, effective date, and changes
These terms take effect on October 20, 2026. Before that date, the July 27, 2026 terms remain the applicable published version; accepting the scheduled revision does not accelerate its effective date. When you create an account or purchase a subscription, we present the applicable terms for acceptance. Completing a payment is separate from consenting to marketing or optional personalization.
We give at least 15 days' notice of ordinary changes and at least 30 days' notice of changes adversely affecting important rights, such as the seller, prices, or refunds, unless a longer period or different procedure is required by law. Where affirmative consent is required, continued use or silence alone is insufficient. Subscription price-change notices must also meet the timing and cancellation requirements of applicable law. You may stop renewal if you do not accept a change. Changes do not retroactively eliminate accrued refund or other mandatory rights.
3. Accounts and age requirements
Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. We may refuse or restrict accounts involving impersonation, fraud, unlawful use, interference with the service, or access-control circumvention.
Account registration is not offered to children under 14. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, use paid features only with the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian authorized to enter the contract. The service is not directed to children under 13. We delete personal information knowingly collected from a child under 13 without a legally sufficient basis and handle children's data as explained in the Privacy Policy.
4. Subscription charges and automatic renewal
Before you pay, Checkout displays your plan, currency, amount due, billing interval, and applicable discounts. The amount shown for an annual plan is a charge for the year, not a monthly installment. Taxes and any mandatory charges must be disclosed before you authorize payment. An introductory discount does not last indefinitely unless expressly stated; the offer must explain its duration and the later recurring price.
Monthly subscriptions renew monthly and annual subscriptions renew annually until you cancel renewal. By expressly accepting the automatic-renewal disclosure in Checkout, you authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method at the disclosed interval and price, subject to any later lawful price change. You may cancel before the next renewal through My Account. A one-time contribution is not a recurring subscription.
Where applicable law requires them, renewal, annual subscription, trial-expiration, and price-change reminders identify the service, amount or range of charges, billing frequency, and how to cancel. For California-covered annual subscriptions, renewal notice is required 15–45 days before renewal; an annual reminder is also required for automatic-renewal plans. Free or discounted introductory periods longer than 31 days require the applicable pre-expiration notice. A missed legally required notice or defective consent may affect your rights; contact us for review.
5. Cancellation and purchase channel
Web subscriptions can be managed online through My Account and the Stripe cancellation screen. You do not need to answer a survey, accept a retention offer, or telephone us to reach cancellation. Stripe confirms when renewal has been stopped. Cancelling renewal normally preserves access until the paid period ends and stops subsequent recurring charges; it does not automatically refund the current period.
For an App Store purchase, use Apple subscription management. For Google Play, use Google Play subscriptions. The store's billing and refund procedures apply to store transactions, without limiting mandatory consumer rights. Deleting an app does not cancel its subscription. Account deletion is separate from a refund request; cancel store renewal before deleting your account where the store requires it. If online cancellation fails, contact us promptly so we can help stop unwanted future charges.
6. Plan changes, credits, and fees
Before a web plan or billing-interval change is confirmed, we show the unused-period credit, the new plan's remaining-period charge, any amount payable or credit, any change fee, and the next billing date. Annual credits use the price actually paid after applicable annual discounts, promotions, and coupons, proportional to the unused period. The same discount is not deducted twice. Processor period calculations and currency rounding may produce small differences from whole-day estimates.
For a customer-requested KRW annual-to-monthly change, the fee is the lowest of KRW 20,000, 10% of the unused credit, and the positive credit remaining after the new monthly charge. No fee applies when no positive net credit remains, for other currencies, or where a Company-caused problem or mandatory withdrawal/refund right requires otherwise. The fee must appear before confirmation.
Unless the change screen expressly states otherwise, a negative settlement is a Stripe customer credit for future web invoices, not a card refund or cash balance. Ending renewal does not automatically redeem that credit. Contact us to review a requested cash refund or unused credit; we do not replace a legally required cash refund with credit. If a cash refund is approved for the same adjustment, the corresponding credit is offset to prevent duplicate compensation. App-store plan changes use the store's procedures.
7. Refunds and billing errors
See the Cancellation and Refund Policy for request instructions, purchase-channel routing, and processing. There is no automatic refund merely because renewal is cancelled or content is unused. We review requests under the applicable law, the offer accepted at purchase, and any applicable Company approval. We refund Company-caused overcharges in full. Mandatory refunds and remedies for unauthorized billing or services not supplied are not excluded by these terms. A change fee does not apply to a mandatory refund or Company-caused correction.
8. Permitted use and content rights
Do not impersonate others, misuse accounts or personal information, compromise security, infringe rights, harass others, or publish unlawful content. Normal collection of openly licensed public content is permitted; rate limits and security controls may address abuse that impairs availability or reaches non-public information.
SBHNews-owned content published without login is, unless marked otherwise, available under CC BY 4.0. Attribute SBHNews, the original title and canonical URL, the license, and any changes. The license permits copying, archives, redistribution, translation, adaptation, commercial use, RAG, embeddings, and AI training. It excludes third-party articles, photos, videos, map tiles, user material, personal information, paid/non-public content, trademarks, and logos. Follow separately stated rights for those materials.
9. User posts and points
You retain copyright in your posts and grant us a non-exclusive license to store, reproduce, display, format, back up, and promote them only as reasonably needed to provide the service. You must have the rights needed to submit your material. We may moderate unlawful, infringing, abusive, fraudulent, or disruptive posts. Account deletion may anonymize authorship without automatically deleting posts. You may request removal through support; applicable privacy rights and lawful retention exceptions still apply.
Service points and titles have no cash redemption value. Their award, use, expiry, and misuse rules are displayed in the service.
10. Availability and information limitations
Maintenance, outages, security incidents, and events outside reasonable control may interrupt the service. We give advance notice when reasonably possible. Nothing in this section excludes mandatory remedies for paid services not provided.
News, maps, market indicators, and AI-assisted material may contain delays or errors. They are informational and do not replace professional investment, financial, safety, legal, or medical advice. Within the limits permitted by law, we are not liable for harm from free informational services absent intentional misconduct or gross negligence. No exclusion applies to non-excludable consumer rights or liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
11. Disputes and mandatory protections
Contact support first if you wish to resolve a dispute informally. Applicable law, including conflicts-of-law rules, governs the contract; mandatory protections in your place of habitual residence remain available. Jurisdiction follows applicable procedural law, and consumers may use courts available to them under that law. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive class actions. Nothing restricts a complaint to a regulator, a legally available payment dispute, or a non-waivable remedy.
