Privacy Policy

주식회사 SBH News (a new corporation scheduled to be established in September 2026; hereinafter "the Company") is the planned service operator. Once incorporated, the Company will process personal information for the following purposes. Personal information will not be used for purposes other than those listed below. If the purpose of use changes, separate consent will be obtained.

• Membership registration and management — identity verification, identification, and prevention of fraudulent use by unauthorized members
• Service provision — personalized content delivery, quiz history storage, and bookmark functionality
• Marketing and advertising — notification of new services and event information (limited to users who have given consent)

• Required: email address, nickname, profile photo (provided via social login)
• Optional: areas of interest, country
• Automatically collected: access IP address, cookies, service usage records, device information

Personal information is retained until membership withdrawal. However, if retention is required by applicable laws, it will be retained for the relevant period.

• Electronic commerce records: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
• Login records: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

In principle, the Company does not provide users' personal information to external parties. Exceptions apply when the user has given prior consent or when required by law.

The Company transfers personal information outside the Republic of Korea as follows for the purpose of service provision. Users have the right to refuse cross-border transfer; however, refusal may restrict use of the service.

The above cross-border transfers are based on Article 28-8 of the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea. For details on each recipient's data protection standards, please refer to the contact links provided.

The Company uses artificial intelligence (AI) to write, translate, and summarize news articles and to generate article images, and labels content that AI has written or reconstructed. Only article text is sent for AI processing; users' personal information is not used for AI processing as a rule. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, and the Company strives to minimize errors through editorial review.

Users may request access to, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of their personal information at any time. Contact: contact@sbhnews.com

SBH NEWS uses Google Sign-In and YouTube API Services to provide account authentication, SBH NEWS channel subscription verification, and live broadcast participation features.

• Data accessed: Google Sign-In email address, name, and profile photo; when the user separately authorizes YouTube access, OAuth access and refresh tokens and SBH NEWS channel subscription status. The administrator broadcast studio processes public live chat message IDs, text, author channel IDs, display names, and vote selections using a server API key that is separate from user OAuth.
• Purpose of use: Account authentication, SBH NEWS channel subscription verification, and public live chat display and interactive vote counting. User YouTube OAuth authorization is used only to verify subscription status.
• Storage and protection: OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and transmitted only over TLS-protected HTTPS connections. Tokens are not exposed to browser sessions. Live chat messages and display names are held transiently in server memory for the 12 most recent messages and are not stored in the database. Channel IDs used for vote deduplication are transformed into per-broadcast HMAC pseudonymous keys.
• Sharing and use limitations: Google user data is not sold or used for personalized advertising, credit evaluation, data brokerage, or training general-purpose AI or ML models, and is not disclosed to third parties except as necessary to provide the requested functionality or comply with law.
• Limited Use: SBH NEWS use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements.
• Retention and deletion: OAuth tokens are deleted immediately when the user disconnects YouTube or closes the account. Credentials revoked directly through Google are checked and removed by a daily verification job. Pseudonymous YouTube vote records are deleted within 30 days of collection.

Users may revoke SBH NEWS access at any time through the in-service YouTube disconnect control or Google Account Security Settings (https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions). Google's Privacy Policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

• Administrative safeguards: Access to systems processing Google user data is limited to authorized personnel with a business need, with security monitoring and credential rotation procedures.
• Technical safeguards: TLS in transit, AES-256-GCM encryption for stored OAuth tokens, server-side authentication and authorization checks, and security headers including HSTS and Content Security Policy.
• Logging safeguards: OAuth tokens, refresh tokens, and Authorization headers are not intentionally recorded in application logs.
• Deletion safeguards: In-service disconnect and account deletion remove local credentials, and a daily job identifies and deletes credentials revoked through Google.
